With a Master's degree in psychology and experience as a counselor, I have seen the positive changes people are able to make with the support of a great therapist. Although I no longer provide 1-1 counseling, I have been fortunate to have learned about the added power of the mind-body connection, and incorporate touch therapy to increase one's emotional and physcial health.
Massage therapy has many positive benefits, some of which include: alleviating symptoms of depression; enhancing attentiveness, and more. The Touch Research Institute has been studying the effects of touch therapy since 1992.
Studies show how the body can hold onto emotions and memories. The emotional baggage carried in our bodies after a traumatic event can limit us. Realizing the effects of the fight/flight/freeze response, Radiant Path offers therapeutic bodywork to assist in the process of moving through these memories, complementing the work being done in counseling.
